Poetry for our planet

There’s a fight over who mightthe better colonizer be

The ones that failed them, orthe ones that fail you and me.

Truth is there is no master thatsets us all free

The only path to freedom comesof solidarity.

They fight over the dirt, thegems and the water

They fight over air but refuseto protect their daughters.

Left or right - progress ortradition,

the sanctity of the planetshould be our mission.

That path ahead is paved inconnection;

Not broken promises and riggedelections

It’s neighbor supportingneighbors of all colors and religion

Building villages deserving ofour children.

Instead of raiding the earth,blasting it apart

We should be mending,conserving, reviving her heart.

Stand up for your self, stand up for your mother

Be disciplined, be kind, beaccountable to one another

It’s time to rise again, risethis time as one

With no master at helm but earth and sun
