A Celebration of Resistance and Remembrance
At the heart of the exhibit are two extraordinary quilts by WorldBeat Center’s Master Quilter, Kim Ballentine Lane, MBA: a sampler inspired by the Underground Railroad’s symbolic codes of freedom and a newly created community quilt honoring freedom fighters through blocks contributed by local participants. The exhibition also features unique quilts from Gee’s Bend alongside traditional block quilts.
