June 27, 2026, Will Be The First Annual Golf Tournament For Saint Joseph Mission Indian Catholic Church

This tournament will raise funds to renovate the 1908 adobe-built church and its curtilage, including the Saint Jude Mission Indian School.

Father Alex Anthony, pastor of the six Indigenous reservations, will be renovating the pastor’s house to have a center for communication for the six tribes who make up this diocese under the Diocese of San Bernadino.

Felix Ortez is coordinating the signups for the event. Currently, there are six foursomes and two junior golfers signed up for this event. Felix said that they will transport any golf carts for free to the event. There will be some cardboard trash cans at the holes.

We are still looking for extra hole sponsors for the event on June 27, 2026. If you are interested, please send an e-mail to stjosephchurch2026golf@gmail.com as we would like to advertise for your business.

The tournament supports the restoration of the 1908 adobe church and nearby structures.  Because the church is on a reservation, the Historic Building Restoration Act does not apply. This project also includes six other reservations with churches affiliated to Saint Joseph Church as the Indigenous Catholic congregation of San Bernardino Diocese.
