Thank you

Thank You, Jesus, for clarity and peace. Thank You for your way with children, adults, and animals. Thank You for my life to be used for Christ. Thank You for my son, who believes in Christ like me. The enemy tried, but it’s Christ who rides with us and other families. Yeshua Bless.

Hispanic Heritage Month

This month, we were delighted to celebrate Hispanic History Month at Illusion Hall, located in Chula Vista. The event was hosted by president and attorney Shane Harris, who specializes in foster care issues. Shane was joined by long-time attorney John Gomez of Gomez and Gomez Attorney Group. The Raising of the 21 Flags was a lovely sight that the owner Vicki Hernandez was proud to show. We were also graced by the mayor of Chula Vista, John McCann, and the mayor of Escondido and pastor Joe Garcia. The event also included the Folklorica Traditional Mexican Dance Troop, looking stunning as always. The San Diego Unified President Richard Becerra also showed up in support of the flag raising and was followed by Cal State Department Controller Hasib Enron. I was so proud to see all the support for the Hispanic Community after years of determination and dedication. The contributions in areas like business, art, government, and law have changed the fabrics of society for the better.

Athenaeum 10th Anniversary

The Athenaeum just celebrated its tenth anniversary at its second location at the Bread and Salt in Barrio Logan. The former bakery has developed into an elaborate space for showing and performing art. Any day you can catch a local jazz performance and participate in a print art class. The artists are always present and mingling for questions from the artist community. My favorite part was the catered tacos and drinks in the dining area. There is always a superior selection.

Taste of North Park 2026

The beautiful sunny community of North Park opened its doors on October 3, 2026, for Taste of North Park. I enjoyed part of my day pouring beers at the clothier Speakeasy and later got to taste some fabulous pho soup at Shank and Bone, a delicious poke sample at Encontro, and gourmet pizza at Mr. Motos. The event is always a great networking experience with great food and drinks. If you are interested in checking out this event next year, visit tasteofnorthpark.com.
