An unknown person smashed the window of a Jewish family’s car after yelling anti-Semitic comments and other obscenities at the home. The incident was caught on security-camera video, but the vandal escaped.
Fellow Jewish neighbors are reportedly tense after this incident in the Pico-Robertson section of Los Angeles.
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) reported that anti-Jewish hate crimes have risen 337% for the period from October 7 to December 7, 2023, over the same period last year.
October 7, 2023 is the start date of the Israeli-Palestinian war in Gaza.
CAIR, (Council of American-Islamic Relations) issued a statement. “This apparent hate crime against the Jewish community is alarming. The Jewish community deserves to feel safe in their own homes, and the applying action of this individual infringes on that right to safety.”
