The community of Hillcrest, California, held its annual Pride Parade on July 20, 2024. I walked in the parade with Attorney Shane Harris of the People’s Association of Justice Advocates and the Mayor of Lemon Grove, Raquel Vasquez. The parade was filled with dancing, music, and good vibes. There were even church people there in support of our people. The event was sponsored by Meals on Wheels and other corporations. I was so happy to be able to walk in the parade wearing a rosary and carrying the American Flag, in honor of the people who have sacrificed and to show we love and respect the LGBT community and their families.
