Rep. Mike Lawler's Busy Week

Rep. Mike Lawler
April 12, 2025

This past week in Washington wasn’t business as usual. A lot went down behind the scenes, and I want to set the record straight. Watch my video above where I break down exactly what happened with the discharge petition to support new parents in Congress and the rule vote that failed earlier this week.

Additionally, I had the privilege of chairing a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing titled “A Return to Maximum Pressure: Comprehensively Countering the Iranian Regime’s Malign Activities.” Watch my opening remarks here!

This week, I also co-chaired the first Moldova Caucus meeting of the 119th Congress with Rep. Deborah Ross as we work to strengthen U.S.-Moldova ties, promote anti-corruption efforts, and counter Russia’s influence in the region. In that same spirit of standing with our allies and upholding shared values, I had the honor of meeting with the family of Ari Fuld, whose tragic murder continues to drive their fight for justice – I’m inspired by their strength and remain committed to holding those responsible accountable.
