LAS VEGAS, NV — Katherine “Katie” Duncan, candidate for Nevada State Assembly District 6, announced the endorsement of the Public Safety Alliance of Nevada, represented by John Abel, Director of Governmental Affairs for the Las Vegas Police Protective Association (LVPPA).
The endorsement recognizes Duncan’s commitment to public safety, strong neighborhoods, and collaboration between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
“As the mother of a law enforcement officer, this endorsement is especially meaningful to me,” Duncan said. “I understand on a deeply personal level the commitment and sacrifice our officers and their families make every day. District 6 residents have made it clear that public safety is a top priority, and I will work to ensure our law enforcement professionals have sufficient resources while advancing practical, community-based solutions that make our neighborhoods safer and stronger.”
Duncan’s public safety priorities include:
• Providing law enforcement with sufficient resources to support effective, community-focused policing.
• Improving neighborhood safety through better lighting, strategic public safety technology, infrastructure improvements, and community-centered design.
• Expanding mental health and wellness resources and youth STEM intervention programs that help address factors contributing to preventing crime.
• Strengthening coordination among residents, businesses, schools, faith organizations, neighborhood associations, and first responders.
Duncan said public safety is directly connected to economic opportunity and quality of life.
“Safe neighborhoods create the foundation for everything else we want to accomplish,” Duncan said. “When people feel safe, businesses invest, children have a better environment in which to succeed, and families and neighborhoods can prosper.”
Duncan’s campaign for Assembly District 6 is focused on safer streets, better schools, affordable housing, quality healthcare, and good-paying jobs.
